The end of the year always brings a unique kind of momentum, one that blends celebration, gratitude, and anticipation. Over the past few weeks, our studio has been buzzing with meaningful projects, community moments, and collaboration that reminds us why we do this work. From honoring Marion’s history to welcoming families into our space for holiday traditions, this season has been full of connection and impact.
As we look toward the holidays and the new year, we’re thankful for every partner, friend, and neighbor who makes this work possible.
Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to, and what lies ahead.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHT
MAYORAL WALL
A new installation in the City Hall building which celebrates the Mayors of Marion was custom designed with a grid system oriented on the original stonework blocks, set to the City of Marion brand pattern. This testament to the history of service recognizes the impact generations of leaders have had within the city and its communities.
If you haven’t had the chance to visit the mayoral wall at Marion’s City Hall, we encourage you to check it out! We are so grateful for the opportunity to share with the community the history of our dedicated leaders of Marion!

LETTERS TO SANTA
The City of Marion’s annual Miracle on 3rd and 4th Street truly felt like a holiday wonder! Misty and Wendy spent Saturday in the studio with doors open for kids and community members to come in and write up their yearly letters to Santa.
Movies played in the background, children marveled at the art exhibit inside, and parents smiled as they watched Christmas lists come to life. We got to see many familiar faces and many new ones, too, bringing in a total of over 350 guests over the course of the day! It was refreshing to walk out at the end of the night and see the downtown swell with people for the annual parade.
We’re grateful to have been a part of it, and grateful for everyone who we got to connect with that day. Cheers to welcoming in the holiday season with a wonderful city and a wonderful community!

FAREWELL TO TONY
We are entering another season where it’s time for us to once again say goodbye to a valued member of our team. Over the past several months, our admin assistant, Tony Myers, has been instrumental in helping us empower and propel our communities forward. His dedication, enthusiasm, and joyful presence will be missed by the MDC team.
Tony, we are wishing all the best as you pursue your future endeavors and are excited for what’s in store for you next!
