Our Process

Marion Design Co was commissioned by the City of Marion to create a Mayoral Wall art installation in the mayor’s office. This installation highlights both the diversity and continuity of Marion’s political legacy.

  • With a 15’x13’ canvas, we were tasked with designing an installation that captures Marion’s Mayoral history. We wanted something visually engaging and consistent with the City of Marion’s brand identity.

  • We began brainstorming ideas and sketching concepts. Once ideas started to gain traction, we turned them into digitally ideated concepts. This included gathering historical photographs of previous mayors, researching materials, and considering various interior signage possibilities. Keeping communication open with the City of Marion allowed us to efficiently progress toward a solidified final concept.

  • After finalizing the digital concept, we were able to build the actual installation. This striking visual timeline welcomes visitors to the Mayor’s office and highlights the diversity of Marion’s history. We hosted an unveiling of the wall for the community, including a light lunch and presentations from Wendy, the current Mayor of Marion, and more. It was a special opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the City of Marion’s history and future.
